Eagar is a town in Apache County, Arizona. According to 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 4,126. Along with its neighbor, Springerville, both communities make up the place known as Round Valley which is in the northeastern part of Arizona close to the New Mexico border.

Eagar is well known for tourism. Sunrise, the largest ski resort in Arizona is only a 30 minute drive from Eagar. The town is located in a beautiful valley right below the White Mountains. The White Mountains have the largest stand of Ponderosa Pines in the world. The town is also home to the first enclosed high school football field, the Round Valley dome, or Round Valley Ensphere.

Payson is a town at the meeting of three roads in Gila County, Arizona. Its location puts it almost exactly in the geographic center of Arizona. According to 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 15,257.

The Mogollon Rim lies to the north of Payson; as such, the town and its surrounding communities are commonly referred to as “Rim Country”

Neighboring communities that, with Payson, make up the Rim Country Community include Star Valley, Christopher Creek, Pine and Strawberry.

Ninety-seven percent of the land around Payson is under the jurisdiction of the United States Forest Service. Payson is surrounded by the Tonto National Forest and is an ideal destination for hiking, horseback riding, and other outdoor activities. Tonto Natural Bridge, the largest known travertine natural bridge in the world, is located just northwest of Payson in Tonto Natural Bridge State Park, a unit of the Arizona State Park system. The area incorporates three golf courses, two of which belong to private country clubs. Mazatzal Casino, a tribal casino, is operated by the Tonto Apache Indian Reservation near the south end of the city.

Payson is known for its rodeo which is claimed to be the oldest continuous rodeo in the world.

Payson has two large parks, Green Valley Park and Rumsey Park. A community swimming pool is located near Rumsey Park and the town hosts free outdoor concerts in the summer. Other activities include intramural sports like baseball and football.

Globe is a city in Gila County, Arizona and is also the county seat. According to 2005 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 7,187.

Globe was founded in 1875 as a mining camp. Mining, tourism, government and retirees are most important in the present-day Globe economy.

Globe is adjacent to Miami, Arizona, and the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. Globe, Miami, and the unincorporated areas nearby (including Inspiration, Claypool and Central Heights-Midland City) are commonly called Globe-Miami.

Miami is a town in Gila County, Arizona. Miami is a classic Western copper boomtown, though the copper mines are largely dormant now. Miami’s old downtown has been partly renovated, and low-cost housing is attracting new residents.

According to 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 1,841.

Maricopa is a city in Pinal County, Arizona, thirty miles south of Phoenix in the Gila River Valley. Maricopa lies approximately 15 miles west of Interstate 10 and 15 miles north of Interstate 8. MaricopaXPress, operated by the city and Pinal County, offers two roundtrips to Phoenix geared towards commuters.

As of 2007, its population is estimated to be 37,863, an increase of 36,823 over the 2000 census figure of 1,040. This makes it the second-largest city in Pinal County and Arizona’s nineteenth-largest city.

The city was officially incorporated on October 15, 2003, becoming the 88th incorporated city in Arizona.

Recent corrections in the real estate market have caused a dramatic reduction in home prices in Maricopa making it an extremely affordable suburb of Phoenix. Thus, Maricopa attracts many young families and first-time homebuyers who are excellent candidates for Maricopa FHA mortgage loans.

Mammoth is a town in southeastern Pinal County, Arizona. According to 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 2,167. It is located within 10 miles of Oracle and San Manuel.

Mammoth was founded c. 1872 as Mammoth Camp, serving the nearby Mammoth Mine.

The nearby ghost town of Copper Creek is a popular local attraction.

Kearny is a town in Pinal County, Arizona. According to 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 2,765. The economic base of Kearny and nearby towns is the Ray mine and Hayden Smelter, both owned and operated by ASARCO.

Kearny was built by the Kennecott Mining Company in 1958 as a planned community to accommodate the populations of nearby Ray, Sonora and Barcelona, which were about to be swallowed by Kennecott’s expanding open-pit copper mine. While many of houses in the town were newly built, some mine employees had their homes moved down the road. Kearny was officially incorporated in 1959.

Florence is a town in and the county seat of Pinal County, Arizona. It is the fifth oldest town in Arizona. The town population was 21,903 according to 2007 Census Bureau estimates.

The largest Arizona State Prison complex, the Florence complex, is located in the city. There are a total of 9 prisons from the county, state, federal and two private prisons. There are 3 state prisons located in Florence.

Florence is the location of the 2nd Anthem development in the state of Arizona being built by Pulte and Del Webb. It is located six miles to the northwest of downtown historic Florence.

Coolidge is a city in Pinal County, Arizona. According to 2005 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 8,154. Coolidge is 56 miles southeast of Phoenix, and 69 miles northwest of Tucson.

Coolidge is the commercial center of Arizona’s cotton industry.

Coolidge is home of the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. The monument was the first historic site to receive protected status by the United States Government in 1892. The ancient city was built about 1200 A.D. by the Hohokam people.
